How do I get Tournament Manager to automatically build complete even teams if I don't have enough (or too many) golfers playing?
Here are some examples of how to solve this problem:
Assume a tournament with 100 golfers and you want Tournament Manager to automatically build 25 foursomes, but only 99 sign up to play.
Click Main menu, and select 2. Sign up players. On that page, the top blue arrow is called Blind Draw (female or male). In this example, you would sign up a Blind Draw to play, so the total number of golfers is 100.
When you click Main menu; select 3. Manage; click on the Hamburger menu (near the top right of your screen); and select Build 4-somes automatically…, one foursome will have a Blind Draw. This will be in essence a 3-some.
If it is a team event, pick a golfer at random (blind draw) on another team and the Blind Draw will inherit his/her handicap and score, so team standings will be correct. To give a Blind Draw a handicap, double-click the Blind Draw and enter the Handicap.
Tip: If you have multiple Blind Draws you can also "lock" the Blind Draws on different teams to assure that two blinds never play together.
To lock a player on a team, double-click on the Blind Draw to bring up their player information. Then enter a Team number, check the Lock on team box and click SAVE.
Note: If you choose not to do the above, you can also manually assign a golfer to any team by double clicking him/her and entering a Team number; checking the Lock on team box and clicking SAVE.
Your tournament has 100 golfers and you want Tournament Manager to automatically build 25 foursomes, but 101 sign up to play. You want one team to be a 5-some.
Click Main menu; select 3. Manage; click on the Hamburger menu (near the top right of your screen); and Build 4-somes automatically…, but one golfer will be left out.
To manually assign the "leftover" golfer to any team....double click him/her and enter the Team number, check the Lock on team box and click SAVE. This team will now have 5 golfers.
Tip: You can control who is left out by signing up the last player (player 101) AFTER automatically building 25 foursomes with the 100 ‘signed up’ players.
